“Eulogy” Interview with Zooey Deschanel

Some really old stuff keeps popping up in my daily Jesse newsfeeds! Today I got sent an interview from Spike.com, where Jesse and the lovely Zooey Deschanel were interviewed for the promotion of “Eulogy” – check it out below.

Independent Spirit Award Musical Numbers: We All Win

Every year, on the eve of the Oscars, the Independent Spirit Awards go down in Santa Monica in a tent near the beach. The Spirit Awards do a great job of pretty much awarding all the films Academy members don’t feel okay about voting for, either because they’re not mainstream enough/didn’t make enough money, or because they’re going to give said films the “indie consolation prize,” aka, the Best Original Screenplay award. Either way, they have far more fun at their ceremony than the Academy ever will at the Oscars. The ongoing tradition of the Spirit Awards that really makes it worth watching though (besides the inevitably profanity-laced acceptance speeches) are the musical numbers: all of the films nominated for Best Independent Feature get sing-along numbers performed by special presenters at the live ceremony. And this year’s best of the crop was, naturally, Rainn Wilson’s take on The Wrestler.

Our other two favorite Spirit Award singalongs from previous years: Steve Zahn’s awesome take on the (out-of-context) ridiculousness that is I’m Not There from last year’s ceremony was pretty stellar…… as was this live music performance by Jesse Bradford and Michelle Trachtenberg about the (awesome) Best Independent Feature, Primer, an uber-low-budget Sundance darling about two friends who invent a time-travel machine:

An interview with Jesse Bradford

(I’m not sure how old this is, but my Google Alerts delivered it to my inbox today, so I thought I’d share a rare interview!)

Right now, 26-year-old actor Jesse Bradford — star of “Swimfan” and “Bring It On,” isn’t a household name to anyone but teens, but that’s going to change with the release of “Heights,” the last Merchant-Ivory film (groundbreaking gay producer Ismail Merchant died in May).

“Heights” is anything but teen fluff: It’s a subtle, gripping tale of secrets, sex and manipulation over the course of 24 hours. In it, Bradford plays a struggling actor who gets “godsmacked” by Glenn Close.

Bradford recently sat down to talk with Entertainment Editor Jenny Stewart on his passionate (and surprising) kiss scene, his own teenage heartbreak and how much he loves his gay fan base.

Spoiler alert: Don’t read any further if you don’t want to know what happens in “Heights!”

“According to Spencer”

I have just added 638 captures of Jesse from 2001 film According to Spencer. More updates on the way, as soon as my DVD provider sends me some Jesse-related films to cap!

“Flags of Our Fathers”

I just added 476 captures of Jesse from Flags of Our Fathers – this was a tricky film to cap as the action scenes were very fast/dark and all the soldiers made it very difficult to distinguish who was who! However, there are still plenty of clear caps with Jesse in – enjoy.
